Your Card, Your Security. Tap: A Safer Way to Verify Identity
May 11, 2026
Keyno, in partnership with Visa, is helping redefine how people authenticate online with the launch of Tap Identification. Launching first with Fidelity Bank (Bahamas), the solution enables cardholders to securely verify identity by tapping their card to their own phone when activating a new card, interacting with the bank’s call center, or enrolling in Keyno’s Dynamic CVV2 service. The result is a simpler experience that reduces reliance on passwords and SMS codes while delivering EMV-level security.
Keyno, in partnership with Visa, is introducing a powerful new way for banks to authenticate and engage customers: Tap to Confirm and Tap to Activate. Launching first with Fidelity Bank (Bahamas), these solutions transform the physical payment card into a secure, real-time authentication device within mobile banking apps.
This innovation helps issuers move beyond outdated and increasingly vulnerable authentication methods, such as one-time passcodes (OTP) and call center-based verification, replacing them with a fast, intuitive tap experience backed by EMV cryptography.
Driving security, efficiency, and digital adoption
Tap Identification is designed to help issuers address some of their most pressing challenges:
- Reduce fraud exposure with EMV cryptogram-based authentication that significantly outperforms SMS-based methods
- Lower operational costs by shifting authentication and activation from call centers to secure in-app experiences
- Accelerate onboarding and activation with instant, tap-based card activation
- Improve the customer experience with a familiar, frictionless tap interaction that requires no new behavior
- Strengthen protection around high-risk actions such as large transactions, account changes, and limit increases
