Live Today, Expanding Fast: Tap Authentication Is Here

Tap to Confirm and Tap to Activate are not a concept. They are live with Fidelity Bank (Bahamas), expanding through 2026, and part of Keyno’s CVVkey® platform that issuers can access today.

Your Card, Your Security. Tap: A Safer Way to Verify Identity — Visa, Keyno, and Fidelity Bank (Bahamas) Lead the Transformation

New authentication ideas often stay on slides for years. Tap to Confirm and Tap to Activate took a different path: straight into a live banking app, used by real cardholders.

First in market with Fidelity Bank (Bahamas)

The launch, announced by Visa in May 2026, is the first commercial deployment of these use cases for issuing banks. Fidelity Bank (Bahamas) Limited offers both features in its FIDSECURE mobile app, powered by Keyno.

Fidelity cardholders can now:

  • Confirm sensitive actions such as password changes, limit changes, address updates and high-value transfers by tapping their Visa card on their phone
  • Activate new cards instantly in the app, without calling the bank or entering an activation code

Broader expansion is planned throughout 2026, bringing tap-based identity verification to more issuers and their cardholders.

“Identity is the key to safe commerce,” said Robert J Steinman, CEO of Keyno. “Now, your Visa card is the key to secure online identity verification.”

Part of a wider toolkit: the CVVkey® platform

Tap to Confirm and Tap to Activate run on Keyno’s CVVkey® platform. The same platform already powers a range of card-security and digital-enablement services for banks, credit unions and fintechs worldwide:

  • Dynamic CVV2 — a security code that changes regularly, so stolen card details quickly lose their value
  • Digital Card Display with Full PAN — secure, in-app access to full card details
  • 3DS Biometric Authentication — real-time transaction approval with the cardholder’s biometrics
  • Click to Pay Issuer Enablement — helping issuers get their cards into Click to Pay checkouts
  • Tap-to-X services — tap-based authentication for activation, confirmation and identity verification

For issuers, this means tap authentication is not a separate project. It slots into a platform many already use, alongside services that work together in one cardholder experience.

Why now

Cardholders expect digital banking to be fast. Fraudsters keep finding ways around passcodes and security questions. Issuers need authentication that is both stronger and simpler, and they need it without rebuilding their infrastructure.

Tap-based authentication answers all three. It uses a credential every cardholder already carries, security proven by EMV, and a platform that is already in production.
